In the mean time, take a look at a little video we made back in November HERE and keep your eyes peeled for much more to come. Thanks for sticking around, it means the world to me.

Tom Butwin's CD Release Show, with Special Guest... Me

4/10/13

Here's why open mics are fantastic: sometimes the music is terrible and you feel really uncomfortable, but sometimes you stumble across some serious talent. Such was the case last week when I met the crazy talented Tom Butwin at Dino's Open Mic in Ferndale, MI.

I'm so excited to be opening for Tom at his CD release show on Sunday, April 28 at the Black Lotus Brewery in Clawson, MI. In the meantime, check out Tom's latest release, "This & Hereafter" on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play.

And don't forget, I'll be performing THIS FRIDAY, JANUARY 11 at The Ark with Seth Glier! Tickets are still available and can be purchased for a mere $15 HERE.

Lo! I bring you "Tidings of Great Joy"!

12/13/12

Merry almost Christmas! I hope this is the first Christmas present you receive this year...

"Tidings of Great Joy" is a Christmas album I recorded a couple years ago, produced by the wonderful Ben Fisher and featuring many of the talented musicians that are a part of my life. It was a true labor of love, and you can download it for FREE here: www.noisetrade.com/kyleephillips

Here's what I had to say two long years ago when we released this little album, and it all still stands:

In my book, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year” is not an exaggeration.

For as long as I can remember, Christmas has been the highlight of my year. I love everything about it – the smells, the life sized Nativity that appears in my town, (when I was younger I wondered whether anyone would mind if I dressed as a shepherd and sat in the Nativity,) the copious amounts of wonderful food, that peaceful feeling when you’re sitting in the dark with a fire in the fireplace and the Christmas tree glowing, and the receiving of the greatest gift we will ever get… I’m getting all misty-eyed just thinking about it. And of course, I absolutely love the music that goes along with this glorious season. (In case you were wondering, yes, I am the reason they start playing 24 hour Christmas music in mid-November… that was all me.)
So who would have thought I would meet a wonderful man who was just as freakishly in love with Christmas as I? So much so that he was willing to take precious hours and days out of his life to be the producer, engineer, and occasionally even play the part of musician in support of this little album. Benjamin is the brains and the beauty behind this operation, I am just the walking mouth. (Newsies anyone?) I believe I can speak for both of us when I say that this was truly a labor of love – love for Christmas, love for music, and love for all of you, we hope you love this music. (If I could visit each of you personally and watch your reaction to the album I would… seriously.)
I truly hope this music becomes a part of your Christmas – listen to it as you bake cookies, as you decorate the tree, maybe even as you open presents on Christmas morning! We are very excited about how this little project turned out, but more than that we are so excited to share it with all of you, whom we love so much.

Have a very merry Christmas and a blessed New Year, we love you guys,
xoxo
